A tilted head in what appears to be clay, but in fact it´s made of bronze. Looks like it sleeping.

Designed exclusively for Kistefos, Silent Studio includes a number of new sculptures that highlight Mark Manders’ ongoing examination of scale, time, and materials. The installation consists of carefully reproduced figurative elements, architectural fragments, and transformed everyday materials.

Mark Manders’ Silent Studio will be a great addition to the continuously expanding sculpture park at Kistefos. His works and installations are a permanent part of several international exhibitions and are displayed at several prestigious museums such as Guggenheim in New York and the Louvre in Paris. We see it as a vote of confidence as well as confirmation that Kistefos is in the same “league” as the major international institutions.

Manders is known for his sculptures in bronze, which give the viewer the impression of being made of clay. His sculptures often give the impression of being half-finished and having been left in the middle of work process.
