This Privacy Statement informs about how Kistefos collects and uses personal information.

Kistefos is responsible for the business’ processing of personal data. This policy contains information that you are entitled to when information is collected from our website and general information about how we treat your personal data.

Cookies on Kistefos-Museet’s website

Below you will find information about Kistefos’ use of cookies. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer when you download a webpage. This is done to improve your user experience.

None of these cookies allow us to associate information about your use of the site with you as a person.

By retrieving information on our web pages, you agree to cookies being placed on your browser, as most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. If you do not want to accept our use of cookies, you can withdraw your consent by changing the settings in your browser. However, note that this may result in reduced user experience.

We use the following cookies at www.kistefos.museum.com: The Analytics tool Google Analytics places 5 cookies on your machine (__utma, __utmb, __utmc __utmt and __utmz). These are used to collect traffic statistics at www.kistefosmuseum.com (see the Google Analytics section on what data we collect and how we use them).

Google Analytics

Kistefos uses Google Analytics to analyze visitor data, such as which parts of our site are the most visited, how long users spend on our webpage, where users click in from and at what times our webpage is most visited. The information is processed in an unidentified and aggregated form. We collect the entire IP address, but the IP address is de-identified so that only the first three groups in the address are used to generate statistics. That is, if the IP address consists of the numbers 195.159.103.82, only 195.159.103.xx. is used. In addition, IP addresses are processed at aggregated level, meaning all data are merged into a group and not processed individually.

The information from Google Analytics is stored on Google servers, in accordance with EU Privacy Policy (GDPR). Google LLC is the data processor for this information.

Google may transfer the statistics to third parties if required by law or in cases where third parties process the information on behalf of Google.

Newsletter

Kistefos sends out e-mail newsletters to those who wants to subscribe to them. The newsletter contains news and information from Kistefos. In order for us to send you newsletters by e-mail, you must register an e-mail address. The e-mail address will only be used to send out newsletters.

Your email address is stored in a separate database, is not shared with others and is deleted when you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link for this in the newsletter or by contacting us.

Kistefos uses a data processor, Mailchimp, to manage and send out newsletters, and it is Mailchimp which operates the database where the email addresses are stored. There is a data processor agreement between Kistefos-Museet and Mailchimp to ensure that your privacy is safeguarded.

Mailchimp's servers are located in Oslo, but they have subcontractors outside the Norwegian borders that have access to personal information. The use of subcontractors is governed by the EU Privacy Shield Framework, EU Standard Transmission Agreements.

The processing basis for processing your e-mail address in connection with our newsletter is the Privacy Policy Article 6, paragraph 1 a), i.e. consent.

Your rights

Under Norwegian law, you can at any time have insight into what information we have stored about you and have them corrected or deleted, if you wish, by sending an email to post@kistefosmuseum.com.
