Kistefos is located in Jevnaker, about an hour's drive from Oslo and Gardermoen. See a detailed travel description here.

Vy has set up an express bus from Oslo to Kistefos and Hadeland Glassverk. The bus runs on selected days during the season.

Where can I park?

There are two entrances to Kistefos and there is parking on both sides:

Entrance South

This is the preferred parking for visitors arriving from the Oslo region or for those with reduced mobility. Address: Kistefossveien 24, accessible from Ringerike via Hadelandsveien / County Road 241.

The car park has space for 300 vehicles and includes parking for electric cars and recreational vehicles.

Entrance North

Address: Samsmoveien 41, accessible from Jevnaker via the E16 and Bergerfossvegen.

The car park has space for 100 vehicles and includes parking for electric cars.

Additional parking is available at:

  • Bergerfossveien, 250 meters walk

Please refrain from parking along Samsmoveien and Bergerfossveien.

Do I have to buy a ticket in advance?

You don´t have to book your ticket in advance, but you can.

Book your ticket here, or buy one at one of the entrances upon arrival.

Payment is accepted with all major cards and Vipps.

How to become a member

Membership is personal and lasts for one year, and it must be actively renewed at the end of the period. You can purchase memberships online or at one of our entrances.

If you wish to upgrade to a membership after a visit, the ticket price will be deducted from the membership fee upon presentation of the ticket. Please note: This offer is only valid on the same day the ticket is purchased, and the upgrade to membership must be done at one of our entrances.

Is the park accessible for wheelchairs and people with reduced mobility?

For visitors with disabilities, we recommend using Parking South, as the entrance from Entrance North begins with a steep hill. Parking South can be accessed from Ringerike/County Road 241. The address is Kistefossveien 24.

Accessible restrooms are available in The Twist and in the café area’s restroom facilities.

Kistefos is located on a 50-acre natural parkland with hilly terrain. The paths are gravel-covered, and some of the inclines may be challenging for those with limited mobility or using a wheelchair. In such cases, we recommend taking an alternative route.

Is the park suitable for children?

Yes! Children can run freely and explore the artworks—many of which are interactive. With our new children's map, the visit becomes an exciting journey of discovery, complete with simple educational tasks. The map is available for free at both entrances. Opposite the café, you'll find a playground with various climbing equipment, and inside the Industrial Museum, there’s a jumping pit and a hamster wheel for the little ones to enjoy.

Is there a café on-site?

Our good neighbor, Øvre Kjekshus Gård, serves hot and cold dishes, made with meat, cheese and vegetables from the farm at the café area.

Can I bring my own food?

Yes, you can, but we politely ask you to enjoy your food in the park, outside the café area.

What payment options are there?

Payment is accepted with all major cards and Vipps.

Can I bring a dog?

Dogs are welcome in the park, but they must remain outside the buildings, including The Twist Gallery, Nybruket Gallery, the Industrial Museum, and the museum shop. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Can I bring an electric scooter?

You may use an electric scooter in the park, but not inside the buildings, including The Twist Gallery, Nybruket Gallery, the Industrial Museum, and the museum shop.

Do you offer guided tours for groups?

Yes, we offer a variety of tours and are happy to tailor them to suit your group's specific interests. Please contact us at booking@kistefosmuseum.com or call 61 31 03 83 to make arrangements.

Does the entrance ticket also apply to The Twist?

Yes, the entrance ticket applies to the entire park and all the showrooms.
