Consul Anders Sveaas

Nils Aas’ bust portrays Consul Anders Sveaas who founded A/S Kistefos Træsliberi in 1889.

Anders Sveaas was born on November 27th, 1840 on the Haug farm in Modum. Even as a young boy, Anders proved to have great business sense. He began his higher education in Scotland in 1857. After several years in Drammen, where he worked with several wood processing companies, Sveaas founded A/S Kistefos Træsliberi in a constituent general meeting on the 27th of June 1889. Anders Sveaas himself held the stock majority.

On August 24th, 1917, Consul Anders Sveaas passed away, 77 years old.
